An Intimate Look At Coach Spring 2016

Yesterday, Coach celebrated 75 years of craftsmanship with its first-ever runway show in NYC. It felt only right that Coach, a brand that has a close relationship with NYC’s High Line, built a custom venue on top of the elevated park. The venue was magical; attendees ascended the stairs and took the short walk over the old railway tracks of the High Line, headed to the glass building that was erected for the show. The interior fused an earthy feel with a modern finish, with sand on the ground and wispy grass throughout.

The collection from creative director Stuart Vevers was not merely well-received; I’ve heard many fashion insiders say Coach Spring 2016 was their favorite show of fashion week so far. Better yet, right after the show, Coach released the runway-debut Coach Saddle Bag, which is immediately available for purchase.

The clothing had a very 70s vibe, with micro-floral multicolored patchworks. Majority of the shoes were short booties, which not only matched the overall vibe, but were incredibly wearable. As each look came past, it was evident that Stuart is continuing to transform this brand and make it more iconic to New York.

The bags were lovely, and longtime Coach lovers will be happy to see an iconic Coach bag, the seventies Pouch, reinvented and used as a staple throughout the collection.
