Jonathan Anderson's Last Big Bag Launch For Loewe Is Coming

Jonathan Anderson’s Loewe will be remembered for its innovative and beautiful approach to fashion. Over his 11-year tenure at the Spanish-founded Design House, he has simultaneously honed in on a distinct, new vision while paying homage to the brand’s iconic heritage and attention to quality and craft.

Anderson was able to balance newness with archival designs. While he helped put heritage brand signatures like the Flamenco and the Amazona back on the map, he also introduced a handful of new house icons. Today, Loewe introduces another new silhouette, one of the last big bag launches to come out of Anderson’s Loewe.

Introducing the Loewe Madrid Bag

First introduced on the runway for Spring 2025, the Madrid bag is a true representation of Anderson’s Loewe. Combining a bit of history with newness, the Madrid bag is an entirely new shape, yet it is also an ode to Loewe’s history, named after the brand’s home city.

Loewe was founded by Enrique Loewe Roessberg in 1846 in Madrid, and its ateliers are still based there today.

Crafted of supple calfskin, the Madrid bag is defined by a trapezoidal shape that offers a slouchy, supple appeal with a sturdy base. Pleated panels cinch closed with the bag’s tubular straps, further defining its shape.

A small gold-foiled LOEWE logo sits at the bottom center of the bag, while a jewel-like gold Anagram Pebble furthers the bag’s subtle branding. In true Loewe form, the bag leather has been specifically developed to exude shine while feeling incredibly soft.

The Madrid bag, which arrives in three sizes—small, medium, and large—is available in Black, Dark Burgundy, Olive, or Burnt Red and retails for $4,990, $5,600, and $6,600, respectively. Making its debut later this week, the bag will be available in select stores beginning this Thursday, April 3rd.
