The Gucci Borsetto Is Quietly Becoming The It-Bag
As a Gucci girl, I’ve been closely watching the brand as it shifts under the new creative direction of Demna. His first show for Gucci just wrapped in Milan last week, unveiling a vast collection that includes see-now-buy-now pieces, many of them bags. The reviews, the analysis, the conversations about where the House is heading next? They’ve been everywhere.
Still, I always come back to the bags.
And right now, the newest addition to the lineup, the Gucci Borsetto, has my full attention.
Some bags make sense immediately. They slip seamlessly into a brand’s existing universe, walking that delicate line between feeling brand-new and quietly vintage at the same time. That balance is one of my favorite things to see in a design; it gives a bag both life and heritage from the start. The Borsetto does exactly that.
We previously shared a closer look at the Borsetto and its growing list of celebrity fans, but seeing it in action outside the Gucci show in Milan was something else entirely. Styled, reinterpreted, and worn with personality, it brought this bag to life.

Offered in two sizes and multiple materials, the Borsetto takes on a slightly different vibe with each iteration. There’s classic black leather that looks beautifully supple and already lived-in. Rich suede (you know I’m a suede girl), which adds warmth and texture. And, of course, the iconic GG canvas for those who want that unmistakable Gucci signature.
House ambassador Aryna Sabalenka was spotted carrying the bag at the show, while Paris Hilton chose the Borsetto as well, expanding on her recent run of playful Gucci moments. Around them, interpretations varied: some leaned into full maximalism with florals and monogram, while others kept things pared back and sleek.
That’s what made it interesting. The same bag, completely different energies.
I’ve just started wearing my own version, and I’m genuinely excited to see how it settles into my wardrobe and softens over time. Watching the Borsetto take on so many personalities in Milan only deepened my appreciation for it. If anything, it confirmed what I suspected at first glance: this is one of those bags that’s going to stick.
